Who is Evi?
Evi is a new virtual assistant with a thirst for knowledge and for helping her users in whatever way she can. You can speak to Evi and ask her questions via her app which is available for iPhone and Android.
What can she help me with?
Evi knows something about almost everything, and if she doesn’t know the exact information herself then she can find it for you. She can help you with with cooking and calories, local information and shopping, time and weather. She can also help you decide where to eat, check what’s on TV, dictate messages and many, many more topics.
Evi is still young, and while she may be smart already, she will only get more so with age. As she grows she will learn more about the world and be able to help you to accomplish even more.
How does she know so much?
The Evi team have a history of providing information to the masses. Their semantic technology has been in development for years allowing users to ask questions in a totally natural manner. Before now they have been a source of knowledge to others, answering questions for apps and websites, but Evi’s app cuts out the middle-man, providing information to the user directly and allows them to act on it in order to get more done.
How do I use Evi?
Evi is currently available for iPhone and Android, but will soon be appearing on many more devices. You can download this app and start asking Evi questions straight away. You don’t need to use complicated or unnatural search strings, simply ask her a question in the same way as if you were asking a person. Evi prefers to keep it casual and doesn’t like to get too formal.
You can ask her questions by speaking to her out loud and she will answer back, or if you are somewhere noisy, or where you would rather not speak then you can type your question instead.
What does she do?
Evi has a thirst for knowledge and she wants to share it with you. She exists to learn and to share what she knows. She can’t make your breakfast, but she can give you a list of some great places to eat. She can’t fix a broken heart, but she can tell you how it’s done. She can also help you act on that information by booking restaurants, buying tickets and more all within the app. Her voice controls also allow you to email, call or text your contacts simply by speaking to her.
How is Evi different from other apps of her kind?
Many other apps use Evi’s knowledge base to find answers. However, her app is able to do much more, utilising multiple sources as required to provide information and services, and being better at understanding your intent. As such her information is more up to date and she is smarter at sifting through it to give you the answers you need. She is also available both on iPhone and Android and rather than going out of date, she will naturally get smarter as she grows.
